Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Yograj Guggul (Cha.Datt.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation widely used for musculoskeletal and metabolic disorders. It balances aggravated Vata and Kapha doshas, strengthens joints and muscles, improves digestion, and eliminates toxins (ama). It is especially effective in arthritis, rheumatic conditions, gout, and chronic joint pain, while also supporting metabolism and overall immunity.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Charaka Dattaka (Cha.Datt.) references using purified Guggul (Commiphora mukul) as the base, combined with multiple herbs like Triphala, Chitrak, Pippali, Ajmoda, and others. The herbs are finely powdered, blended with purified guggul, and rolled into tablets.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, milk, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
- Joint stiffness, swelling, and inflammation
- Gout and uric acid-related issues
- Low digestion and metabolic weakness
- Body stiffness, muscle pain, and fibromyalgia
- Detoxification of accumulated toxins (ama)
Side Effects :
Safe when taken in prescribed dosage. Overdosage may cause gastric irritation, burning sensation, or loose stools in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Avoid during pregnancy and lactation.
– Not recommended for children without medical supervision.
– Use cautiously in individuals with severe gastritis, ulcers, or hyperacidity.
