Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Sitopaladi Churna (Sha.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily used for respiratory and digestive health. It is highly effective in managing cough, cold, asthma, bronchitis, throat irritation, and digestive issues such as indigestion and bloating. The medicine works by balancing Kapha and Vata doshas, clearing phlegm, improving respiratory function, and enhancing digestive efficiency.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Sharangdhar Samhita guidelines using herbs and ingredients like Mishri (sugar candy), Vamshalochana, Pippali, Ela, Dalchini, and other supportive herbs. The ingredients are carefully processed, powdered, blended, and sieved to obtain a fine herbal churna.
Dosage :
2–3 grams, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, honey, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Cough, cold, and throat irritation
- Asthma and bronchitis
- Excess phlegm and respiratory congestion
- Digestive issues such as bloating and indigestion
- Kapha-Vata imbalance affecting respiratory and digestive systems
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause mild gastric irritation or loose motions in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
– Patients with diabetes should use cautiously due to sugar content.
– Should be avoided in cases of severe Pitta imbalance without medical advice.
