Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Punarnavadi Mandur (Bh.Rtn.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation widely used for managing anemia, liver disorders, spleen enlargement, and edema. It improves hemoglobin levels, enhances digestion, reduces swelling caused by water retention, and supports healthy liver and spleen function. This medicine balances all three doshas and rejuvenates the body.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Bhaishajya Ratnavali guidelines using Punarnava and other selected herbs along with Mandur Bhasma (purified and processed iron oxide). The ingredients are finely powdered, blended, and made into tablets following traditional Ayurvedic methods.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with buttermilk, lukewarm water, or as directed by the physician.

- Anemia (Pandu Roga)
- Liver disorders
- Spleen enlargement (Splenomegaly)
- Edema and water retention
- Loss of appetite and indigestion
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause gastric irritation or constipation in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should use only under strict medical guidance.
– Patients with severe gastritis or ulcers should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
