Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Kutajghan Vati (S.Yo.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily used in digestive and intestinal disorders. It is highly effective in managing diarrhea, dysentery, chronic loose motions, abdominal pain, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The medicine works by balancing Vata and Pitta doshas, improving digestion, reducing inflammation in the intestines, and controlling excess bowel movements.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Siddha Yoga Sangraha guidelines using Kutaja (Holarrhena antidysenterica) bark extract along with other supportive herbs. The ingredients are processed, powdered, blended, and made into tablet form following traditional Ayurvedic methods.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, honey, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Diarrhea and dysentery
- Chronic loose motions
- Abdominal pain and bloating
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Vata-Pitta imbalance in digestive system
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause constipation or mild gastric discomfort.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should avoid unless prescribed by an Ayurvedic doctor.
– Patients with severe constipation or intestinal obstruction should use cautiously.
– Should be taken only under medical supervision in chronic conditions.
