Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Khadiradi Vati (Ch.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation mainly used for oral and throat-related disorders. It is highly effective in relieving sore throat, hoarseness of voice, mouth ulcers, bad breath, and tonsillitis. The medicine has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties that help in oral hygiene and respiratory health. It balances Kapha and Pitta doshas and supports overall throat comfort.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Charaka Samhita guidelines using Khadira (Acacia catechu) as the chief ingredient along with Javitri, Supari, Kankol, and other supportive herbs. The ingredients are powdered, blended, and compressed into tablet form following traditional Ayurvedic methods.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets to be sucked slowly (as lozenge) 2–3 times daily or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Sore throat and hoarseness of voice
- Tonsillitis and pharyngitis
- Mouth ulcers and bad breath
- Cough and throat irritation
- Kapha-Pitta imbalance in oral cavity
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose or chewing/swallowing directly may cause mild gastric irritation.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should use only under medical advice.
– Patients with severe oral or throat infections should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
