About Erand Tail (Castor Oil):
Castor oil is used both externally and internally in Ayurvedic treatment. It is considered a rejuvenative and anti-aging medicine, excellent for relieving Vata and Kapha disorders. It is also used in Panchakarma therapy, especially as the preferred oil for Virechana (purgation) treatment.
Therapeutic Uses:
- Digestive Health: Acts as a tonic, laxative, and rejuvenator. Relieves worm infestation, abdominal colic, intermittent fever, skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, hemorrhoids, and constipation.
- External Application: Improves blood circulation and body warmth. Relieves joint pain and stiffness, especially in rheumatoid arthritis. Used in prolapsed uterus and rectum to reposition and stabilize the organ.
Ayurvedic Actions:
- Balances Vata and Kapha dosha. When processed with herbs of astringent, sweet, and bitter tastes, alleviates Pitta as well.
Virechana – Purgation Treatment:
In Snigdha (oily) virechana for Pitta disorders with Vata involvement such as gout, skin disorders, and rheumatoid arthritis: Administer spices for digestion (3 days), medicated ghee orally (3–7 days), massage and sweating (2–3 days), then castor oil in high doses to induce loose stools.
Side Effects & Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in diarrhea, amoebic dysentery, and pregnancy.
- May cause stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, dizziness.

About Mohari Tail (Mustard Oil):
Mustard oil, also called Mohari or Rai Tail, is widely used in Ayurveda for both external and internal therapeutic use. It is pungent and hot in potency, beneficial in balancing Vata and Kapha doshas, and stimulating digestive and circulatory functions.
Therapeutic Uses:
- Digestive Health: Improves digestion and relieves worm infestation.
- Skin & Wounds: Useful in wounds, abscesses, swellings. Reduces pus, slough, pain, and swelling.
