Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Ajamodadi Churna is a classical Ayurvedic herbal powder formulation widely used for digestive and respiratory health. It is highly effective in managing indigestion, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, gas, bloating, cough, cold, and respiratory congestion. The medicine works by balancing Vata and Kapha doshas, improving digestion, stimulating appetite, relieving phlegm, and supporting overall gastrointestinal and respiratory function.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Ayurvedic classical guidelines using Ajamoda (Carum roxburghianum) along with supportive herbs like Jeeraka, Shunthi, Maricha, Pippali, and others. The ingredients are dried, powdered, blended, and sieved to obtain a fine herbal churna.
Dosage :
2–3 grams, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, buttermilk, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Indigestion and loss of appetite
- Gas, bloating, and abdominal pain
- Cough and cold
- Respiratory congestion and phlegm
- Vata-Kapha imbalance in digestive and respiratory systems
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause acidity or gastric irritation in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should use only under medical advice.
– Patients with severe acidity, ulcers, or chronic gastrointestinal issues should use cautiously.
– Should be avoided in excessive Pitta conditions without medical advice.
