Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Talisadi Churna (Sha.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily used for respiratory and digestive health. It is highly effective in managing cough, cold, asthma, throat irritation, fever, and digestive issues like indigestion and bloating. The medicine works by balancing Kapha and Vata doshas, clearing respiratory congestion, stimulating digestion, and strengthening immunity.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Sharangdhar Samhita guidelines using herbs and spices like Talispatra, Pippali, Shunthi, Maricha, Dalchini, Ela, and other supportive ingredients. The herbs are dried, powdered, blended, and sieved to obtain a fine churna while retaining their therapeutic properties.
Dosage :
2–3 grams, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, honey, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Cough, cold, and throat irritation
- Asthma and bronchitis
- Respiratory congestion and phlegm
- Fever and mild respiratory infections
- Digestive issues such as bloating and indigestion
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause mild gastric irritation, nausea, or loose stools in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
– Patients with ulcers, hyperacidity, or severe digestive disorders should use cautiously.
– Should be avoided in cases of aggravated Pitta without medical advice.
