Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Saptaparnaghan Vati (S.Yo.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation mainly used in fever, malaria, and chronic digestive disorders. It is highly effective in reducing intermittent and recurrent fevers, enhancing digestion, relieving abdominal pain, and detoxifying the body. The medicine balances Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas, supports liver health, and improves overall immunity.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Siddha Yoga Sangraha guidelines using Saptaparna (Alstonia scholaris) as the chief ingredient along with other supportive herbs. The herbs are carefully processed, decocted, and converted into tablet form following traditional Ayurvedic methods.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, honey, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Jwara (fever), including malaria and chronic fever
- Loss of appetite and indigestion
- Abdominal pain and bloating
- Liver disorders
- Weakness and low immunity after fever
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause mild gastric irritation or nausea in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should avoid unless prescribed by an Ayurvedic doctor.
– Patients with chronic liver or kidney disorders should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
