Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Amruta Guggul (Bh.Rtn.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation mainly used for treating chronic skin diseases and blood impurities. It helps in detoxifying the body, purifying blood, and reducing inflammation. The formulation balances Pitta and Kapha doshas and is especially beneficial in skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and boils. It also boosts immunity and supports healthy digestion and metabolism.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Bhaishajya Ratnavali (Bh.Rtn.) references using purified Guggul (Commiphora mukul) and Amruta (Guduchi / Tinospora cordifolia) as the main ingredients along with other herbs. These are finely powdered, mixed with purified guggul, and processed into tablets.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with lukewarm water or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis, acne, itching, boils)
- Blood disorders and impurities
- Chronic fever with skin irritation
- Gout and inflammatory conditions
- Rheumatic pain with skin involvement
- Boosts immunity and detoxification
Side Effects :
Generally safe under prescribed dosage. Overdosage may lead to gastric irritation or mild diarrhea in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Avoid during pregnancy and lactation.
– Not recommended for children without supervision.
– Use cautiously in patients with severe gastritis or ulcers.
– Always consult an Ayurvedic physician before long-term use or if on other medications.
