About Kutajadi Kadha (Kwath):

Kutajadi Kadha is a classical Ayurvedic formulation prepared by boiling coarse powders of herbs and reducing them to one-fourth, then filtering to form a decoction. It exerts strong astringent and detoxifying effects on the alimentary canal, especially the intestines, and is highly effective in diarrhea, dysentery, and intestinal infections.

  • Antiamoebic & Anthelmintic
  • Astringent & Haemostatic
  • Aam Pachak (Detoxifier)
  • Supports expectoration and has mild antitussive action

Benefits & Medicinal Uses:

  • Relieves diarrhea (acute & chronic)
  • Useful in dysentery and cholera
  • Helps manage Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) with loose stools
  • Effective in intestinal worms
  • Supports recovery in chronic bronchitis and productive cough

Dosage & Administration:

  • Infants & Children under 5 years: 1–5 ml
  • Children (6–9 years): 5 ml
  • Children (10–13 years): 10 ml
  • Teenagers (13–19 years): 15 ml
  • Adults: 20 ml
  • Pregnancy: 10–20 ml (only under strict supervision)
  • Geriatric: 20 ml

Maximum possible dosage: 60 ml per day (in divided doses). Best taken twice a day with equal amount of water, after food.
