Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Swadishtavirechan Churna (S.Yo.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily used for digestive detoxification and Pitta-related disorders. It is highly effective in relieving constipation, acidity, indigestion, bile imbalance, and metabolic toxins (Ama) accumulation. The medicine works by stimulating digestive fire (Agni), promoting proper bowel movements, cleansing the digestive tract, and balancing Pitta and Kapha doshas.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per S.Yogendra Samhita guidelines using herbs and natural purgatives like Trivrit (Operculina turpethum), Shunthi, Maricha, Pippali, and supportive ingredients. The herbs are dried, powdered, blended, and sieved to obtain a fine churna while retaining their therapeutic properties.
Dosage :
1–3 grams, once daily with lukewarm water or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Constipation and irregular bowel movements
- Acidity, indigestion, and bile imbalance
- Accumulation of Ama (toxins) in the digestive tract
- Pitta-Kapha digestive imbalance
- Detoxification and cleansing of the digestive system
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or nausea in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
– Patients with severe dehydration, chronic diarrhea, or gastrointestinal disorders should use cautiously.
– Should be avoided in excessive doses to prevent electrolyte imbalance.
