Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Lavanbhaskar Churna (Sha.San.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation primarily used for digestive and metabolic disorders. It is highly effective in managing indigestion, loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, gas, nausea, and Pitta-Vata imbalance. The medicine enhances digestive fire (Agni), supports proper bowel movements, and helps in detoxifying the digestive system.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Sharangdhar Samhita guidelines using a combination of herbs and mineral salts such as Lavan (Rock Salt), Saindhava, Pippali, Shunthi, Maricha, and other digestive supportive ingredients. The ingredients are dried, powdered, blended, and sieved to obtain a fine herbal-mineral churna.
Dosage :
1–3 grams, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, honey, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Indigestion and loss of appetite
- Abdominal bloating, gas, and nausea
- Pitta-Vata digestive imbalance
- Constipation and irregular bowel movements
- Metabolic and digestive detoxification
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause mild gastric irritation, nausea, or loose motions in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
– Patients with high blood pressure, kidney disorders, or severe gastrointestinal issues should use cautiously.
– Excessive use may lead to electrolyte imbalance due to mineral salts.
