Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Sanjivani Vati (R.T.S.-1) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation described in Ras Tantra Sara. It is a powerful digestive and detoxifying medicine that acts as an effective Ama-nashak (removes toxins and undigested food from the body). It is mainly used in fever, indigestion, diarrhea, dysentery, cough, cold, respiratory infections, and other disorders caused by Ama and Kapha imbalance. It also improves metabolism and strengthens digestive fire (Agni).
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Ras Tantra Sara guidelines using ingredients like Vidanga, Pippali, Amla, Haritaki, Vacha, Shunthi, Bhallataka, and other supportive herbs. These are processed, ground, and converted into tablet form following traditional Ayurvedic methods.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with lukewarm water, honey, or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Jwara (fever) of various types
- Indigestion and Ama-related disorders
- Diarrhea and dysentery
- Cough, cold, and respiratory infections
- Abdominal pain due to indigestion
Side Effects :
Generally safe when taken under medical supervision. Overdose may cause gastric irritation, burning sensation, or loose stools due to its strong digestive herbs.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should avoid unless prescribed by an Ayurvedic doctor.
– Patients with gastritis or hyperacidity should use cautiously.
– Should not be taken in cases of excessive Pitta disorders without medical advice.
