Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage
Sarivadi Vati (Bh.Rtn.) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation mentioned in Bhaishajya Ratnavali. It is primarily used in ear-related disorders such as tinnitus (Karna Nada), hearing impairment, and chronic ear infections. The medicine helps improve hearing capacity, reduces ringing in the ears, relieves inflammation, and balances Vata and Pitta doshas affecting the auditory system.
Method of Preparation :
Prepared as per Bhaishajya Ratnavali guidelines using herbal and mineral ingredients like Sariva, Haritaki, Bibhitaki, Amalaki, and other selected herbs. The ingredients are finely processed, blended, and made into tablet form following traditional Ayurvedic methods.
Dosage :
1–2 tablets, once or twice daily with lukewarm water or as directed by the physician.
Indications :
- Tinnitus (ringing in the ears / Karna Nada)
- Hearing impairment or partial deafness
- Chronic ear infections
- Inflammation and discharge from ears
- Vata-Pitta imbalance in the auditory system
Side Effects :
Should be taken only under medical supervision. Overdose may cause gastric irritation or complications in sensitive individuals.
Contra Indications :
– Not suitable for children without prescription.
– Pregnant and lactating women should avoid unless prescribed.
– Patients with severe kidney or liver disorders should consult an Ayurvedic doctor before use.
